You just found out you’re expecting a sweet new baby annnnd you have a list a mile long of what you need to do to prepare for their arrival.
You’re researching all of the best products out there and adding three different types of pacifiers to your babylist registry. You’re probably also searching for a photographer to be there to capture photos of your sweet sweet sweet newest addition. And you also probably have no idea what your budget should be.

Some things to consider…
When you hire a newborn photographer, your session is a bit different than most portrait sessions. We aren’t just snapping a few pics here and there and calling it a day.
There are lighting supplies, wardrobe planning, dress options for mom, and a lot of wiggle room to ensure baby is snuggly and sleepy.
Newborn sessions usually last an hour to two hours. It all depends on how baby is feeling. You might want to do an outfit change for baby and we’ll have time for that. Or time to feed baby if he or she is getting fussy.
So, what’s the budget?
Every photographer has a different “cost of doing business” based on salary needs, supplies, subscriptions, processing fees, etc. However, based on my research you are looking at investing a minimum of $1,500. This is your most precious gift, and those digitals will sit in your Google Photos for years. You’re not investing in digitals – you’re investing in art. An album that is curated to complement the colors in their bedroom put on display for them to thumb through. A beautifully designed and custom framed print of your new family to display in the living room.

So many art forms to choose from, but in general you can expect an album with corresponding digitals to be in the $1500 range, artwork to be in the $2,000+, and digitals to be $3,000+.
Here’s where the membership plan or “baby” plan can be so helpful. Rather than multiple session fees, you pay one single session fee and can book up to 4 sessions together. Each session has its own ordering appointment and you can review multiple galleries if you’re hoping to put together an album from all of your sessions.
Rebecca, that’s way more than we can budget for
Listen, I completely understand.
I’ve been there. My first baby, I set up my tripod and got maybe 3 photos of us together an at that point I called it a win. We had an extended hospital stay, and an emergency ride to Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital right after my son was born. We couldn’t fit it in the budget.
I have good news!
My payment processing platform is PayPal and they’ve begun offering an interest free line of credit. This is a great way to get exactly what you’re looking for, without having to spend a huge chunk of money right after delivering your sweet baby. You have 6 months to pay your session of at 0% interest and all of the details are linked above.
So, ready to book?!
It will be so worth it, I can’t wait to work with you!!
