YAYYYYY!
You’re about to have your first baby and whether you’ve had tonssss of experience with babies or none at all, having your own newborn is completely uncharted territory!
As a newborn photographer serving families in Jacksonville, and having three kiddos myself, I know a few things that can make newborn life a bit easier.
1 .PACIFIERS

My favorite brands are Bibs and Ninni Co depending on your preference. Plus they’re neutral and cute and don’t stand out too much in photos
2. Swaddles

Everyone has their preference, but we’ve tried dozens and the ones that have been the most user friendly (AND that I snuck under a prettier swaddling blanket in a recent newborn session) have been the Swaddle Me’s. So many designs and some even unzip at the bottom for easy middle of the night diaper changes. Game changer for sure!
3. Baby Carrier

This one is alllll trial and error. In my personal experience I have 3 favorites but all for different reasons. First is the Solly Baby; it’s my favorite for new new baby days when you want baby to feel like he or she is back in the womb. My second favorite is a Wild Bird Ring Sling. This one is soooo easy on the go. I always keep it in my diaper bag and it takes me less than a minute to put on, but it does take some practice. Ok lastly would be the Artipoppe. This one is great for bigger babies – holds up to 45lbs!! That’s a full toddler size! So it lasts a while. It’s an investment but it’s truly the most comfortable carrier I’ve ever used and I’ve tried the Mabe, Wildbird, Ergobaby, and many others.
4. Sound Machine

Okay this one is controversial only in that we have never used a sound machine. BUT it is always everyone’s favorite and most of my clients come in with this one that they LOVE. We have it… I just use it with other babies haha! I do think the best kind is the travel kind since you can use it out and at home. The Hatch is the perfect choice!
I hope that was helpful! All of these items were linked so you can browse and add to your Babylist Registry!
