One of the most common questions I receive from families preparing for their photography session is, “What should we wear?”
And I completely understand why! Coordinating outfits for an entire family can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re shopping for little ones who seem to outgrow everything overnight.
As a Jacksonville family and newborn photographer, I’m always looking for ways to make preparing for your session a little easier. And I recently came across a children’s clothing rental service that I think families are going to love.
Meet Stork — a thoughtfully curated children’s clothing rental service that makes dressing your little ones in beautiful, high-quality pieces easier than ever.

If you’ve ever purchased an expensive outfit specifically for family photos, only for your child to wear it once before outgrowing it, you’ll understand why I love the concept behind Stork.
Founded by two moms, Adriana and Jordan, Stork was created to give parents access to beautiful children’s clothing without constantly purchasing new pieces.
Their collection features premium children’s brands, with everything from classic dresses and sweet bubble rompers to coordinating sibling outfits and elevated everyday pieces.
Rather than purchasing an entirely new wardrobe, families can select the pieces they love, enjoy them, and return them when they’re ready for something new.
It’s such a practical concept, especially for those special occasions when you want something a little more elevated than your child’s everyday wardrobe.
When helping families plan their outfits, I always recommend choosing clothing that feels timeless, comfortable, and cohesive without being overly matched.
Soft colors, beautiful textures, and thoughtfully chosen pieces photograph so beautifully, particularly in the natural light and outdoor settings I love using for my Jacksonville family sessions.
Stork makes finding those pieces a little easier.
Their collection includes styles ranging from classic and preppy to bohemian and dressy casual, making it possible to find something that complements your family’s personal style.
I especially love that they offer coordinating sibling sets! Dressing multiple children for family photos can be challenging enough without having to track down outfits that work well together.
And because Stork carries a variety of independent children’s brands, it’s a wonderful way to discover unique pieces that you might not find while shopping at your usual stores.
The process is refreshingly simple.
First, you’ll choose a membership based on how many pieces you’d like to rent. Stork currently offers two monthly membership options:
Once you’ve selected your membership, you can browse their collection and choose the pieces you’d like delivered.
Your clothing arrives professionally cleaned and ready to wear, with standard shipping included both ways.
After your session, simply return the pieces when you’re ready to refresh your selection. You can even keep renting favorite items through additional membership cycles.
Another detail I appreciate? You can share a membership between multiple children, selecting different sizes within the same shipment.
Stork currently carries sizes 12 months through 5T, making it a particularly great option for families with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Whether you’re renting from Stork or shopping from your favorite boutique, there are a few things I always encourage families to keep in mind when selecting outfits.
Start with a soft, cohesive color palette. Creams, warm neutrals, muted blues, dusty pinks, and soft earth tones are some of my favorites. These colors photograph beautifully and help create that timeless, natural look.
Choose texture over busy patterns. Delicate embroidery, linen, knits, smocking, and subtle details add visual interest without distracting from the people in your photographs.
Coordinate rather than match. Your family’s outfits should complement one another, but everyone doesn’t need to wear the exact same color. I love choosing a few coordinating shades and incorporating them throughout everyone’s clothing.
Prioritize comfort. This is especially important for little ones! Children who can move, play, and snuggle comfortably in their clothing are much more likely to relax and enjoy their session.
And remember, the goal isn’t to look perfectly styled. It’s to create beautiful photographs that feel like your family.
One of the things I love most about family photography is documenting the little details of each season of life. The way your toddler reaches for your hand, the way your baby fits perfectly in your arms, and the sweet interactions between siblings.
Those are the moments you’ll want to remember.
Beautiful clothing can certainly complement those memories, but preparing for your session shouldn’t feel stressful or require spending a fortune on outfits your children may only wear once.
That’s why I think Stork is such a wonderful resource for families who love quality children’s clothing and want a more flexible way to shop.
If you’re planning an upcoming family photography session in Jacksonville, I encourage you to explore Stork’s children’s clothing collection as you begin putting together your
This isn't an investment in vanity. This is an investment in your legacy - what gets passed down to future generations. Maybe even to those you never get a chance to meet.
